Meet Our Instructors

Dr. Sharon Eisen


Dr. Sharon Eisen picked up her first pickleball paddle in 2015 and hasn’t put it down since.  In that time she has played in local, national and international tournaments winning several gold medals as well as silver and bronze.

In early 2018 she became certified to teach pickleball and is presently teaching in her hometown of Brookfield, CT.  She will be bringing her knowledge of the game to Oxford, CT and will be available for instruction for most levels of play.

She loves teaching this wonderful sport so that others can enjoy it as much as she does.  She loves to travel and plans on attending tournaments all around the world if possible.

In her spare time she practices veterinary medicine at her clinic in Brookfield which she opened almost 30 years ago.  Dr. Eisen also has a good sense of humor and loves a good laugh.

Mary Martinik

Mary Martinik has enjoyed a 40-year career in public physical education. Her many years of administration, teaching and coaching sports has resulted in numerous local and state recognitions. For the past several decades Mary has excelled in local, state and national play in tennis and softball. 

Mary’s love and passion for Pickleball began in 2013. Today she competes successfully in Pickleball tournaments on a local, regional and national level. Mary is an *IPTPA certified Pickleball instructor and currently runs clinics, private & group instruction in both the Fairfield County region and Long Island NY. 

Mary is a resident of Monroe, CT with her husband Jeff, has three grown children and enjoys spending time with her four grandchildren.

Eden Lica


Eden Lica spent his childhood and early career as a tennis prodigy growing up in Constanta, Romania where he won numerous tournaments and was a former member of their national team. He had a brief professional career on the ITF circuit before returning to college and receiving a degree in exercise science. Eden has channeled his racquet skills into quick success on the pickleball court winning local and national tournaments in singles and doubles, including a silver medal in singles at the 2018 Gamma Open.  Eden is a sponsored pickleball player and now the number one pickleball player in Connecticut.

In his spare time, Eden enjoys cooking, working out at the gym, reading and traveling.
